Something you might want to do When in St.Andrews

Extension project - Phase One complete!

The beginning of the year saw the dining rooms being refurbished from top to bottom.

New Velux windows have given a bright and spacious feel to the place and the carpets have been giving our customers added bounce!

Oak panelling and a classy Vescum wall finish has gone down well with regulars and new customers alike -  our new Italian chairs were the only item that missed the re-opening deadline…. the delivery lorry was stuck fast in a blizzard! When the driver phoned from Northern Italy it was 12C in Scotland, needless to say he refused to believe me…

Given all the work put in it has been very rewarding to have had such a positive response from everyone, we were aiming for an informal but elegant look and that has been the general feedback thankfully.

Phase 2 is well ahead of schedule thanks to kind weather and our brilliant builders, especially Davie and Murdo working hard on the foundations (when they are not arguing with each other…)

The new, luxurious loos will be a welcome addition and our private dining suite will come in handy for the many business and departmental groups that we host. Ideal also for discreet celebrations, pre dinner drinks or a relaxing place for post-prandial coffee.

Difficult to put a date on completion - however if the next few go as well as the last we should be completing Phase 2 sooner than later.

Now in our 25th year!

The Vine Leaf Restaurant, now in its 25th year, is owned and managed by husband and wife team Morag and Ian Hamilton. It is discreetly situated just off St Andrews’ historic South Street, at the end of a winding close, and offers an informal haven for discerning diners.
